Last December, the UK saw the release of Baz Luhrmann’s epic romantic adventure movie 'Australia', starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.
Baz Luhrmann’s film portrayed Australia in a way never before seen – as a big picture telling a big story about a big country! 'Australia' was filmed on
location in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and
New South Wales, and delivered powerful messages
about the beauty and diversity of the country, as well as its European
and Aboriginal history.
The dramatic and rugged landscape of Western
Australia’s east Kimberley region is one of the film’s featured
location, whereas much of the World War II action was shot in Darwin, in the
Northern Territory. Other scenes were shot at Bowen on Queensland’s
north coast, at Vaucluse on Sydney Harbour, and in the historic town of
Camden, an outer Sydney suburb.
